Raw Autumn Trail Mix
1/2 cup pumpkin seeds
1/2 cup raisins
1/4 cup dates (pitted)
1/2 cup dehydrated apples
1/2 cup raw almonds
1/4 cup raw pecans
1/2 cup coconut flakes (unsweetened)
1 tsp. cinnamon
Makes 3 cups. 1 cup per serving
1. Mix everything together and enjoy!
Tips to Modify this Recipe for YOU:
- When buying nuts remember to ALWAYS buy Non-Roasted (RAW) and Un-Salted! Check the ingredient list before buying. Roasted Nuts have altered and damaging fats in them that you want to avoid!
- When buying dehydrated (dried) fruits and foods look for unsweetened (no added sugar) types and natural food brands who avoid added synthetic preservatives. Investing in your own personal food dehydrator is superior to store bought.
- Dehydrated fruits should be ate infrequently and in small amounts. They are concentrated in sugars and can be hard to digest for some people. Its easy to overeat dehydrated fruits since they don’t fill you up like ripe, fresh fruit. A small handful will do. It would be in your best interest not to eat dehydrated foods constantly since there are much healthier options available, such as fresh fruits! Eating this recipe without the dried fruits (raisins, and apples) is still yummy!
